Based on this argument, hermeneutics seeks to interpret the text and explain the process of understanding. Hermeneutics is a philosophical tradition of reflection that seeks to clarify the concept of understanding and to answer the question of what constitutes the meaning of everything meaningful. Therefore, in fields such as philosophy, theology, literary criticism and social sciences and philosophy of science, we are witnessing the increasing use of hermeneutics and related topics. Dariush Shayegan is one of the few thinkers and intellectuals in the last 5 decades in Iran who is contemporary with intellectuals such as Seyyed Hossein Nasr, Reza Davari Ardakani, Dariush Ashouri, Ehsan Naraghi, etc. and the unique features that Shaygan has, he Distinguishes it from its contemporaries. One of the important and key issues in the works of Shaygan and his contemporaries is the issue of tradition and modernity in the face of the Iranian people with this issue. در این نوشتار درصدد بررسی مفهوم سنت و مدرنیته در اندیشه داریوش شایگان بر اساس ترکیبی از روانکاوی جمعی «کارل گوستاویونگ» و نظریه هرمنوتیک «هایدگر» خواهیم بود که مبنای احیاء معنویت شرقی در مقابل سیطره مدرنیته بر فرهنگ‌های غیراروپایی است. بر اساس این استدلال هرمنوتیک درصدد تأویل و تفسیر متن و توضیح روند فهمیدن هستند. هرمنوتیک سنت تفکر و تأملی فلسفی است که می‌کوشد مفهوم فهمیدن را روشن کند و به این پرسش پاسخ دهد که چه چیزی سازنده معنای هر چیز معنادار است. ازاین‌رو در حوزه‌هایی مانند فلسفه، الهیات، نقد ادبی، علوم اجتماعی و فلسفه علم شاهد کاربرد روزافزون هرمنوتیک و مباحث مربوط به آن هستیم. «داریوش شایگان» از جمله معدود اندیشمندان و روشنفکران در 5 دهه اخیر در ایران است که هم‌عصر با روشنفکرانی همچون «سید حسین نصر»، «رضا داوری اردکانی»، «داریوش آشوری»، «احسان نراقی» و ...است و ویژگی‌های منحصربه‌فردی که شایگان دارد، وی را از هم‌عصران خود متمایز می‌کند. از مباحث مهم و کلیدی در آثار شایگان و روشنفکران هم‌عصر خود می‌توان به مسئله سنت و مدرنیته در مواجهه شدن مردم ایران با این مسئله اشاره کرد. این مقاله درصدد پاسخ به این پرسش است که سنت و مدرنیته چه تأثیری در اندیشه شایگان داشته است؟ فرضیه مطرح این است که آیا اندیشه‌های شرقی و غربی موجب خودآگاهی و روشنگری شایگان نسبت به غرب‌ستیزی و سنت‌گرایی شده است. https://journals.abru.ac.ir/article_705625_119c866a2d37eece38930d9b82bef61e.pdf
