This surprising event was the result of lightning attacks by the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, which, after capturing the strategic cities of Aleppo and Homs, reached the Syrian capital Damascus and took control of the country. One of the key players in the Syrian crisis that played an important role in the overthrow of Assad is Qatar. Using a descriptive-analytical method and citing library sources, the present study seeks to answer the question of what is the role of Qatar in the overthrow of the Assad regime? In response to this question, the author, applying the theory of classical realism, tests the hypothesis that Qatar has played an active role in the process of overthrowing the Assad regime, with the aim of increasing its power and gaining maximum benefits, through interventionist policies and financial, military, political and media support for opposition groups, especially Hayat Tahrir al-Sham. سرنگونی بشار اسد در سال 2024 که به بیش از پنج دهه حکومت خاندان اسد پایان داد، نقطه عطفی در تاریخ معاصر سوریه به‌شمار می‌رود. این رویداد غافلگیرکننده نتیجه حملات برق‌آسای گروه هیئت تحریر الشام بود که پس از تصرف شهرهای استراتژیک حلب و حمص، به دمشق پایتخت سوریه رسیدند و کنترل این کشور را به‌دست گرفتند. یکی از بازیگران کلیدی در بحران سوریه که نقش مهمی در سرنگونی اسد ایفا کرد، قطر است. پژوهش حاضر با بهره‌گیری از روش توصیفی-تحلیلی و با استناد به منابع کتابخانه‌ای به دنبال پاسخ‌ به این پرسش است که نقش قطر در سرنگونی نظام اسد چیست؟در پاسخ به این پرسش، نگارنده با کاربست نظریه واقع‌گرایی کلاسیک، این فرضیه را مورد آزمون قرار می‌دهد که قطر با هدف افزایش قدرت و کسب منافع حداکثری، از طریق سیاست مداخله‌جویانه و حمایت‌ مالی، نظامی، سیاسی و رسانه‌ای از گروه‌های مخالف به‌ویژه هیئت تحریر الشام، نقش فعالی در روند سرنگونی نظام اسد ایفا کرده است. همچنین یافته‌های پژوهش حاکی از آن است که به قدرت رسیدن هیئت تحریر الشام نه تنها نفوذ دوحه در دمشق را گسترش می‌دهد، بلکه در بلندمدت به تقویت جایگاه قطر در معادلات منطقه‌ای و افزایش قدرت چانه‌زنی دوحه در سطح بین‌المللی منجر می‌شود. https://journals.abru.ac.ir/article_733491_a9b34b9b41fe28736fd1cae5b492355f.pdf
