Given the history of hostility between Iran and the Taliban, the group's return to power provided an opportunity to examine the transformation of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s strategy toward developments in Afghanistan. This study aims to reassess the reasons underlying Iran’s pragmatic approach toward the Taliban. Employing a descriptive–explanatory method and drawing upon the theoretical framework of symbolic interactionism, the study seeks to answer the following question: What explains the Islamic Republic of Iran’s pragmatic approach toward the Taliban from 2021 to 2024, despite the ideological differences and contradictions that exist between the two sides? The research hypothesizes that, despite ongoing tensions, Iran has prioritized pragmatism in its relations with the Taliban. The findings indicate that the Islamic Republic of Iran, through its interpretation of the Taliban’s actions within an interactive framework, has shifted its strategic priority regarding the group from an ideological orientation to a pragmatic one. شکل‌گیری دولت دوم امارت اسلامی در افغانستان (۲۰۲۱)، سرآغاز روابط نوینی در تعاملات میان جمهوری اسلامی ایران و افغانستان بود. به‌قدرت‌رسیدن طالبان، با توجه به پیشینه خصومت‌آمیز ایران و این گروه، به‌مثابه آزمونی برای بررسی دگردیسی راهبرد جمهوری اسلامی ایران در مواجهه با تحولات افغانستان عمل کرد. هدف این پژوهش، بازخوانی علت رویکرد عمل‌گرایانه ایران در قبال طالبان است. بنابراین، نویسنده با اتکا به روش توصیفی-تبیینی و چارچوب نظری تعامل‌گرایی نمادین، در پی پاسخ به این پرسش است که علت رویکرد عمل‌گرایانه جمهوری اسلامی ایران در قبال طالبان از زمان شکل‌گیری آن تا سال ۲۰۲۴، علی‌رغم بروز برخی اختلافات و تضادهای ایدئولوژیک میان آن‌ها، چه بوده است؟ فرضیه تحقیق بدین‌صورت طرح شده است که ایران، علی‌رغم بروز برخی تنش‌ها، تلاش داشته در روابط با طالبان، عمل‌گرایی را در اولویت قرار دهد. نتایج پژوهش نشان می‌دهد که جمهوری اسلامی ایران، با تفسیر کنش‌های طالبان در چارچوب الگوی تعاملی، اولویت راهبردی خود در قبال این گروه را از سطح ایدئولوژیک به سطح عمل‌گرایی منتقل ساخته است. https://journals.abru.ac.ir/article_734793_e77bc3f2e75ba1ee831722eefbdf9573.pdf
