Abstract
The present study has reviewed and summarized previous studies related to neoliberalism in Iran. The present study has been conducted using the qualitative meta-synthesis method and the seven-stage model of Sandelowski and Barroso (2003). For this purpose, the results of studies conducted between 2007 and 2025 were reviewed and a number of relevant articles were identified using relevant keywords and out of 253 articles, 51 articles were finally selected according to the criteria of the meta-synthesis method. In order to examine the quality and reliability of the research findings, content validity and the kappa index were used, and the results indicated the desired quality of the findings. The findings of the present study led to the extraction of different codes, and after continuous back and forth, 7 final headings were identified regarding neoliberalism, which are: political, cultural, economic, legal, media, urban and environmental, and educational. On the other hand, the integration of the findings of previous studies led to important categories regarding neoliberalism, including: rethinking the political, cultural engineering, market fundamentalism, rule of law, media policy revision, capital-oriented space-building, commercialization of knowledge and education.
