The approach of Western media towards events in Palestine, particularly Gaza, has consistently served to promote Israeli interests and diminish the rights of Palestinians in this conflict spanning over seven decades. During the recent Palestinian struggles against Israel, known as the "Al-Aqsa Flood," the usual pattern of news coverage and representation by Western media continued. However, the bombing of the al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza, which led to widespread criticism and condemnation of the Israeli regime, also affected the performance of Western media outlets. This research examines the approach of BBC World Service and CNN to the hospital bombing incident through the theoretical framework of agenda-setting and using a thematic analysis of the published news. The overall finding of this study reveals a dual game played by the BBC and a strategy of countering reality and creating ambiguity by CNN regarding the events in Gaza, and specifically the al-Ahli Arab Hospital incident.
